Selection process

Selection procedure and Calendar
The following tentative calendar is foreseen in this Third Call for the Selection procedure:

Selection criteria and requested documentation
The following selection criteria are used to select the successful candidates.

Applications are checked for general and specific prerequisite requirements by the Coordinator and the rest of partners. Applicants that fulfill the previous minimum criteria (i.e. nationality, previous degree obtained…) go into the next step in the selection procedure. Following, Each Latin American partner HEI sorts applications in each Target Group following these criteria:

Post –Doctorate 6 months Research experience in the relevant study area-  Thesis

Relevant work experience (Curriculum vitae)

Staff 3 months Research and/or professional experience in the relevant study area-  Thesis and posterior
Academic level (Bachelor / Master / Doctorate) and results. Language skills (B2-C1, see minimum requirements Host HEIs)
Motivation and working plan
Relevance of the knowledge for the Home Institution (Department letter or similar)

After the classification at the Home HEIs, the preselected candidates, those with the best rank number for each mobility type, Country Group and Target Group, are further evaluated by the Host Universities, including sometimes a Skype interview. The candidate´s preferences for the Host Institution are mostly followed although trying to distribute the mobility among all Host Universities.

The final mark and selection lists are agreed by all partners.

In case of equality for several candidates, cross-cutting issues are used:

  • Economical and other disadvantages
  • Gender balance
